The Arlington Police Department is getting ready to show off the newest addition to its "Game Up 5-0" program.
The department's gaming trailer will power up for the first time during its "Cooking with Cops" event Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Vandergriff Park.
This mobile gaming center has Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation gaming consoles, a racing simulator, and a virtual reality station. Each of the systems is loaded with family-friendly games that members of the public can play with each other and with Arlington police employees.
The trailer was purchased with money from a $175,000 grant the department received in 2023 from the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Target.
