After fighting COVID-19 for seven weeks, Arlington Sam Houston boys soccer coach Joey Rodriguez has died at the age of 43.
In a tweet, his wife Lena confirms that Rodriguez died Sunday evening just before 6 p.m. Her tweet began by saying "such sadness on earth, but rejoicing in heaven."

Rodriguez was rushed to the hospital on August 29th and was almost immediately put on life support.
