The Arlington ISD school board has chosen a new leader for the district.
Dr. Matt Smith had been named as the sole finalist for the job in December, and the school board made it official by voting to hire him at their Monday night meeting.
Smith comes to Arlington from the Belton ISD in central Texas.
Before moving into administration, Smith was a teacher, coach, and a principal. His first day at his new job in Arlington will be January 30th.
