Arlington vaccinates hundreds at clinic at E-Sports Stadium

The City of Arlington is operating a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the city's E-Sports Stadium. Hundreds of people in Group 1-B have received doses of Moderna's vaccine. The clinic will be open again starting at 8 o'clock this morning for up to 300 patients.

"We got vaccines in the arms of people who need them and we're very pleased with that," said Arlington Fire Chief Don Crowson. "Hopefully, it's the beginning of the end. It will take us a while, but hopefully by this spring or early summer we'll see our community getting back to the way it used to be...and we're excited about that."

Crews from the Arlington Fire Department are administering the doses to people age 65 and older along with those who have chronic health conditions that increase their risk from COVID-19.

"My station has been one of the task force stations during the pandemic testing thousands of residents. It's important to me to slow this down and get back to some type of normal," said AFD Lt. Jayson Wittmayer. "Today is some light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully we can start going toward a positive direction."

The Arlington Fire Department is expecting more doses of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine next week.
