The four astronauts who flew the Artemis II flight around the Moon are opening up about the mission.




Commander Reid Wiseman opened Thursday's news conference thanking the entire world.

Not just the various agencies that made the mission possible but also everyone who got hooked.

"This NASA organization and our international partners, they put together this amazing vehicle," Wiseman said. "The Orion spacecraft that we named Integrity atop the Space Launch System, riding to the Moon on a European service module."

Wiseman also spoke about his confidence in the Orion spacecraft saying if they flew Artemis III tomorrow, it would be ready.

Artemis III is scheduled to fly sometime in the middle of next year.

The entire crew spoke about the magnitude this flight had on the public which was something they were unable to realize until after the flight.

"My husband said that before I got back, he had a conversation with my brothers and sisters and they were like, 'Who's going to tell her'," Christina Koch said. "We didn't know."
