As people continue to wear masks and stay home as much as possible, many have wondered what effect that has had on the usual flu season in North Texas. Some question if it is still around...and or if they should still get vaccinated for it.
On Monday's Ask the Expert, Dr. John Carlo, CEO of Prism Health North Texas, and a member of the State's Coronavirus Task Force joined the KRLD Afternoon News to talk more in depth about the issue.
Dr. Carlo says the flu is still around despite record low cases so far this season. He suggest the covid precautions to reduce the spread of one virus has helped reduce the spread of another. Getting your annual influenza vaccination is still important, he says, and could even prevent you from getting worse symptoms if you were to contract coronavirus.
