A man is now in custody in Denton after an hours-long police stand-off early Tuesday morning.
Around 3:00 a.m. police got 911 reports of gunfire on McKinney Street about a mile from the Texas Woman's University campus. They arrived to find a man running away, so they chased him to see why he was running.
He ducked into what turned out to be a vacant building and he refused to come out. Realizing no one was in danger, police decided to wait him out.
Around 5:30 a.m. the man gave up and was taken into custody. It has not been confirmed if this man was the one firing the gunshots that the 911 callers heard.
