PLANO (1080 KRLD)- Plano officials are warning residents to remain vigilant about bats.

They say a bat found outside Campisi's Restaurant along Dallas Parkway last week tested positive for rabies.

No human contact is confirmed, but authorities ask residents to remain vigilant. Plano Animal Services should be contacted if there’s any chance a pet came into contact with the bat.

Both Texas and Plano mandate that animals receive rabies vaccinations and regular booster shots.
