Bicyclist injured, American Airlines employee suspended after hit-and-run crash

An American Airlines employee was suspended after a hit-and-run crash that injured a bicyclist near DFW Airport this week.

The bicyclist, Tom Geppert, and friends were riding their bikes down Airfield Drive, near the north end of the airport, when Geppert was struck from behind by an SUV, according to KRLD's media partner NBC DFW.

The driver of the SUV is accused of drinking and driving after police said they found empty beer cans in his backseat.

Geppert said he was treated for a concussion, a broken rib, and several cuts and bruises. American Airlines said the employee was suspeneded from his job as a cargo handler.
