The biggest outdoor skating rink in North Texas will open this week in the Christmas Capital of Texas.
Grapevine is known as the 'Christmas Capital of Texas,' and the city is putting the finishing touches on the biggest outdoor ice skating rink in the region.
The rink will open Friday at Grapevine's Peace Plaza, in front of the Grapevine Main Station. It's a 45-hundred-square-foot rink that will be framed by the city's 50-foot Christmas tree decorated with larger-than-life holiday ornaments.
For decades Grapevine has been pulling out all the stops to celebrate Christmas and was officially declared the Christmas Capital of Texas in 2009. The addition of the outdoor skating rink takes this year's celebration to a whole new level.
The rink will be open from Friday, Nov 18 thru January 8. It will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and it will cost you $20 for an hour of ice time.
