Fort Worth police, including the Gang Unit, are hunting down two cars that took part in a Sunday evening drive-by shooting that sent an innocent observer to the hospital.

Reports say the victim was wounded in the parking lot of Buttercup Place, an apartment complex on Stalcup near Berry in southeast Fort Worth.

Before being rushed to the hospital, she was able to tell police there was an exchange of gunfire between people in two cars, both of which sped away immediately. She says she was simply in the line of fire and was not involved in their conflict.

Police believe the shooters and the others in the two cars are gang members. Less than a year ago, a woman was gunned down in a shooting at the same apartment complex.
