A camp in McKinney this summer can help kids learn about construction trades. "Camp Build" is organized by The Rosendin Foundation.
The foundation says its camps can help kids learn trades that are in demand. According to the U.S. Census, Collin County had a population of 1,254,658 in 2024, an increase of 59,299 from 2023 and 188,191 more than 2020.
The camp is open to both boys and girls and will be held at Modular Power Solutions in McKinney May 17. Organizers say kids will gain hands-on experience "under the guidance of local trade professionals."
The camp is May 17, but the deadline to register is Monday. The camp covers electrical trades.
Camp Build is free for kids in sixth through eighth grade. The link to register is www.TheRosendinFoundation.org/camp-build .
