The candidates hoping to succeed Betsy Price as Fort Worth mayor are lining up. Attorney Mattie Parker, a former chief of staff for the mayor and council says she will run.

She tells the Star-Telegram she plans to file the paperwork tomorrow.

Parker is CEO of a non-profit focused on education and increasing the number of students who attend college.

Councilmembers Brian Byrd and Ann Zadeh, Tarrant County Democratic Party Chairwoman Deborah Peoples, and two political newcomers, Mike Haynes and Chris Rector, are also running for mayor.
