Braving a chilly night in Keller, hundreds of people came out to the town hall to remember Terry Barker, one of the six men killed last Saturday in the mid-air collision of two vintage airplanes at a Dallas air show.
Barker was remembered for many things including his service during the Vietnam War, his long career as a pilot at American Airlines, two stints on the Keller City Council and his life as a family man and community leader.
The gathering was held adjacent to a display of 1776 American flags placed outside Town Hall in observance of Veterans Day.
The mourners were told that Barker was one of the volunteers who donated time to emplace the flags which were due to be removed Monday. But the city decided to leave them in place for last night's candlelight service.
