GARLAND (1080 KRLD)- Carbon monoxide exposure is being blamed for the deaths of two Garland men.

Police say they responded to a complex off South Barnes Drive and found the men in an apartment. Officers observed a gas-powered generator inside the residence with the key in the on position, but it appeared to be out of gas.

Witnesses reported hearing the generator running inside the apartment Thursday.

Detectives are working with the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the actual cause of death.
