Carroll ISD school trustees have voted to end the district's mask mandate as of June first.
From that point on, students and staffers will be allowed to choose whether to mask up.
During presentations, some parents shouted slogans at the school board -- things like "Stop Scaring Our Children" and "Stop Making Them Wear Medical Devices."
Superintendent Lane Ledbetter said the district's Covid-19 task force recommended the June 1 date because lifting the mandate sooner would disrupt STAAR tests during which all students must be in the school buildings.
