DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center and the organization, Center Table, will serve 2,200 hot meals over the next week at the center on Bonnie View Road in South Dallas.

Many North Texas school districts, including Dallas and Fort Worth, are on spring break next week.
Center Table is working with several food trucks to provide meals to families who may not have access to food with their kids at home next week.
"One student, one family at a time, we can help out and make a difference," says Jared Chenevert, owner of Bearded Chef Cajun Cuisine. "That's what we're here for. It's more than a meal. We want to give people a chance to have something, not just to eat for one day, these meals will last a couple days."
Chenevert is working with O'Brien's Food Truck. Gary O'Brien brought his truck from Houston.
"Everybody's going through something," O'Brien says. "Some good food, some comfort food, that goes a long way."
Chenevert started working with Center Table last year, delivering meals to hospitals for doctors, nurses and staff working longer hours when the pandemic started. He says he wanted to offer families dealing with "food insecurity" a way to ensure their kids would be fed while they are at home.
"We know there are students and families who've been going without meals," he says. "It's a beautiful thing, giving the community, especially the southern Dallas community and opportunity to be lifted through food."
Ruthie's Rolling Cafe and Greek Lover Food Truck will also set up at the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center over the next week.
