A 1-year-old boy died after being accidentally run over by a family member in a driveway in northeast Parker County, authorities say.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office says deputies respond to a 911 call reporting the incident, which occurred as an adult family member attempted to move a vehicle closer to the home due to the incoming storms on Tuesday afternoon. Investigators say the child left the house unnoticed and stood in a blind spot near the vehicle.
As the vehicle moved forward, the toddler was struck. Family members began lifesaving efforts until emergency crews arrived and transported the child to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Azle.
Despite additional attempts by medical staff, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities say the incident appears to be accidental.
