This week, Children’s Medical Center Dallas is celebrating the distinction of being rated the top children's hospital in North Texas by US News and World Report, and #2 in the Southwest region.

Children's Dallas was also ranked #16 nationally.

Children’s Medical Center Dallas continues to be the only pediatric system in North Texas ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Children’s Hospitals report for the sixth consecutive year.

"It means we absolutely believe in our mission of being the best in what we do, taking care of patients in the area and the region," says Dr. Dai Chung, chief medical officer for the Joint Pediatric Enterprise between Children’s Health and UT Southwestern. "It's an incredible feat."

Children's Medical Center Dallas is nationally ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties that US News ranked. That includes a #4 ranking in Pediatric Orthopedics.

KRLD's John Liddle talked with Dr. Dai Chung, and Lindsay King and Kevin Richardson, the parents of Merce Richardson, whom Dr. Chung operated on to correct severe gastrointestinal issues two years ago.
