It's been a staple on McKinney Ave in Dallas for years, and now a beloved restaurant is moving.

Chuy's restaurant opened on McKinney Ave. over 30 years ago. It was the third location in the franchise which was started in Austin in 1982. The Tex-Mex restaurant became residents' favorite for its great Mexican food, classic jalapeno ranch dip, great margaritas, and a statue of Elvis right in the middle of the store.

The Elvis memorabilia is now part of the decor at more than 100 Chuy’s nationwide. Elvis and the rest of the joint are said to move to East Dallas in April 2025.

The management stated that they want Chuy's to be opened by Cinco De Mayo. Chuy’s will open again at 1520 Greenville Avenue, the former site of Desert Racer, a restaurant known for its massive patio and generous parking lot.

Earlier this year, Chuys was sold to the group that owned Olive Garden. Chuy’s menu will remain the same, as it does at all locations. The best-sellers include the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom chicken enchiladas and the Big As Yo’ Face steak burritos.
