The City of Dallas is preparing for a significant economic benefit from the World Cup this summer.
A City memo sent to the Dallas City Council says all evidence supports a massive economic boost but they do not have the exact figures yet.
There is also possible reimbursements from the State of Texas Major Events Reimbursement Program that the City is still working to achieve.
The memo says they are still counting attendance figures and will not have the exact hotel tax information for another one to two months.
"Dallas will receive revenues related to FIFA World Cup activities from several sources, including the local Hotel Occupancy Tax at 7 percent, the local Brimer Bill HOT at 2 percent, Project Financing Zone revenues, Sales Tax, and facility rental agreements for FIFA events," the memo said.
The memo also states that Dallas is also participating in the federal public safety grant program which will provide funding to support Host Cities.
