Thursday, the city released its audit of the incidents. The newly released report suggests, back in March, the city lost 20.9 terabytes of data, totalling 8.26 million individual files, most of which were archived police data.

The audit also suggests that it was the action of one city IT employee who didn't follow proper protocols two different times. That employee has since been fired.

The city will hire outside attorneys to examine the audit's findings. The FBI is also investigating.
