DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Seven years after the city approved the plans, Dallas has finally started construction on a new skateboarding park.
The new skatepark is being built at Bachman Lake Park. It is a nearly 46,000-square-foot concrete inground skate park, professionally designed.

There will be a street area, a plaza, a bowl and a snake run-- something for all level of skaters. The $3.9 million project will also include seats for spectators, restrooms, bike racks and water fountains. It should be finished by the end of the year.
City leaders hope the new park will help bring the sport back to Bachman Lake where it was very popular back in the 80's, even drawing skateboarding legend Tony Hawk to check out the famed 'Clown Ramp'
