Collin County leads the way in North Texas for residents who are vaccinated

When it comes to residents who are vaccinated, one North Texas county leads the rest by a wide margin.

Collin County.

Collin County commissioners heard from Taylor Burton with the health department, who says that 68% of eligible residents have gotten at least one dose and 61% are fully vaccinated. Additionally, 89% of those 65 and older have had at least one dose and 81% are fully vaccinated.

"This puts us well over the state and national averages," Burton says.

Burton says there is a renewed push for those who are unvaccinated to get a shot as the delta variant spreads.

Burton says there are over 350 clinics in the county that offer the vaccine and many don't require an appointment.
