Colombian national extradited to Texas in major drug investigation

The United States has successfully completed the extradition of nine people in a cocaine trafficking case out of Colombia that is being prosecuted in Texas.

The last of the defendants made his first court appearance this week in El Paso following his extradition last week.

The investigation has been ongoing since 2018 targeting an alleged Colombian drug trafficking organization which is believed to be a major supplier of cocaine to the Caribbean and the United States.

Luis Guillermo Peralta Pacheco is the final member of the nine co-conspirators to be extradited to Texas. His case will be handled in San Antonio.

The FBI, DEA, and ICE are running the case which is part of the Homeland Security Task Force.

This also involved the FBI's Attaché in Bogota, Colombia.
