One year after the deadly mall shooting in Allen, the community and its neighbors came together Monday night for a service of remembrance.
The Credit Union of Texas Event Center was a place of prayer, reflection, and of sharing memories of the victims and of gratitude for the survivors. It's been one year since a gunman fatally shot eight people at Allen Premium Outlets.
Displays Monday night included photos and memories of the victims. Among them were two young sisters, a couple and their three-year-old son, two immigrants who came to the U.S. for a fresh start, and a security guard who gave his life trying to help others.
