There was a spectacular fire and explosion in Richardson Wednesday.
Officials say the boom of a concrete pump truck contacted power lines near North Glenville and East Collins, causing the cab to explode in a fireball and a thick, black plume of smoke that could be seen for miles.
The flames eventually swallowed up the rig, leaving it a blackened, smoldering mess.
The destroyed power lines cut electricity to the neighborhood and closed down the Collins-Glenville intersection for hours.
Despite the intensity of the flames, the driver was not hurt.
