Congressman Colin Allred has tested positive for COVID-19 following his return from a trip to Europe.
Allred tweeted that he tested positive upon returning home from a trip to Belgium and Ukraine.
Allred said that he and the ten other members of Congress on the trip were tested throughout, and he had tested negative when he boarded his return flight home and after landing.
Allred says he is fully vaccinated and boosted; and as such, his symptoms are mild.
He says despite the infection, the trip was vitally important, amid the threat of Russian aggression in Ukraine.
