Cook Children's says it's seeing a growing number of patients as respiratory illnesses spread across North Texas.
The Fort Worth emergency room treated 608 patients Wednesday, while its seven urgent care centers saw another 880.
Doctors say flu A, RSV and rhinovirus are driving the increase.
The hospital's Prosper location is also seeing a spike, with nearly half of patients tested in late October testing positive for flu A.
Health officials are encouraging seasonal vaccinations, good handwashing and staying home when sick to help slow the spread.
