Cook Children's Medical Center restricting visitors to keep COVID spread away

A surge in COVID-19 patients means tighter visitor restrictions at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.

Cook Children's Medical Center is about to tighten visitation policies again. Starting Monday, patients will only be allowed to have 1 primary caregiver.

It's not a new policy, the hospital implemented it from March through September.

But when the COVID-19 case numbers started going down, the rules became more relaxed. Lately, Cook Children's has seen a jump in COVID-19 cases.

The daily rolling positivity rate is 8.3 percent for the past several months, the hospital's average has been 5 percent. It's the most COVID-19 patients Cook Children's has seen since the start of the pandemic.
