As we move into the Independence Day holiday weekend, Cook Children's in Fort Worth has created some new video Public Safety Announcements in support of preventing drownings.
The hospital system says it has admitted 35 children for drowning injuries this year alone, and two of those children died, both in May.
Of the 35 drownings or near-drownings, 22 of them were in June, the worst June on record since 2016.
The majority of drownings among children occur in swimming pools.
