Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg is set to make history this week as the NBA rolls out its new “Debut Patch” program and the No. 1 overall pick gears up for his professional debut.
The initiative, launched by trading-card maker Topps, means Flagg’s first-game jersey will include a specially numbered patch that will later be autographed and embedded in a one-of-one collector’s card.
The debut patch concept drew major attention after a similar card featuring Paul Skenes sold for over $1.1 million earlier this year.
Collectors’ interest in Flagg’s card is heightened not only by his status as a top prospect but also by the fact he joins a Mavericks roster boasting veterans like Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.
Flagg’s rookie season kicks off on October 22 when the Mavericks host the San Antonio Spurs, and the patches go into production as part of the 2025-26 Topps Basketball release.
