CORSICANA (1080 KRLD)- The Corsicana ISD regular school board meeting was on Monday and they had some important business to discuss.
They discussed the incident everyone had been talking about. An assistant principal at Collins Intermediate, Candra Rogers, was hospitalized after an altercation with a student last Thursday.
The incident happened at Collins Intermediate School in a classroom with less than 10 students. It was stated that a student was detained after an Assistant Principal was injured in the classroom.
The Navarro County District Attorney says the student involved was detained and then released to the parents, but they won't discuss possible charges because the student is a minor.
During the school board meeting, a parent also brought up concerns on how to better train teachers for disruptions in the classroom.
The board also mentioned that Rogers is out of the hospital as of Tuesday and Corsicana ISD plans to start a fundraiser for Rodgers' recovery efforts.
