You can now register for the COVID-19 vaccine in Denton County.
Registration opened at noon for the next drive-thru vaccine clinic. Pre-registration is required by phone, but officials say they're getting an overwhelming amount of calls so it might take a while to get through.
The Public Health Department says vaccine supply is limited and registration will shut down once supplies run out.
"We are experiencing very high call volumes at this time and are so sorry if you've not been able to get thru just yet. If you do get thru to the hold music/prompt, stay on the line and do not hang up. At this time, vaccine supply is still available. We will post an update when registration is full. Thank you," said Public Information Officer for Denton County Public Health, Jennifer Rainey.
Healthcare workers, frontline workers and residents of long term care facilities are eligible to register, so are those 65 and older and adults with chronic medical conditions.
You can pre-register by calling 940-349-2585. More information about who is eligible to register can be found here.
