The Texas Department of State Health Services says in the previous week, the one that ended this past Sunday, there were 23,779 new student cases of COVID-19 reported on school campuses.
That's down significantly from the previous week's peak of 40,216 student cases.
Since the start of the school year, 126,687 students across the state tested positive for COVID-19.
Also in the most recent week, 3,851 staffers statewide tested positive, for a six-week total of 24,476.
