A large house fire in North Dallas prompted a third-alarm response Friday as flames spread through the attic and roof of a three-story home.
Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to the home in the 23 block of Ash Bluff Lane and initially launched an offensive attack after finding smoke coming from the attic.
As conditions worsened and fire broke through the roof, firefighters withdrew from the structure and switched to a defensive strategy.
About 60 to 70 firefighters remained on scene as crews worked to contain the blaze.
Officials said it is unclear whether anyone was inside the home when the fire started, but no injuries have been reported
