Richardson is dealing with a cyber attack. The city says someone got access to their servers and tried to encrypt data files.
The city's security kicked in so the impact was pretty minimal. Richardson says it went ahead and shut down internal access to city servers just in case. Emergency response, online payments, and such are still working.
The city's still working to figure out what kind of information the hackers got and is working with the FBI. The Department of Homeland Security has also been notified. Richardson says it's working to restore its systems as quickly as it can.
