Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is no longer facing a sexual assault lawsuit in Dallas County, according to reports.
Reports say a judge signed off on dropping the Dallas County lawsuit yesterday. According to CBS News, the case has been dismissed without prejudice, meaning the current case against Prescott has ended, but allows for the case to be refiled in the future.
Bethel Zahaie, one of the lawyers for the woman who accuses Prescott of sexual assault, tells KRLD News they have asked to have the case dropped in Dallas County using a maneuver called "non-suiting." But they have already re-filed the case in Collin County and Zehaie says they are still pursuing the sexual assault claims.
By non-suiting in Dallas County and re-filing in Collin County she says this will make scheduling more convenient for the litigants and the attorneys on both sides.
Furthermore, they have filed motions to dismiss Prescott's claims of extortion. His lawyers say the woman offered to drop all charges in return for a payment of $ 100 million.
