Dallas and other cities glowing amber tonight to remember COVID victims

Across North Texas tonight, many landmarks will be bathed amber to remember the people who have died fighting the coronavirus.

It's all part of a nationwide memorial to honor the hundreds of thousands of people who have died so far during the pandemic.


The Biden inauguration committee is leading the event that's being organized by Marked By COVID, a non-profit that works to raise awareness about the severity of the virus.

Lewisville is participating with city hall, Medical City Lewisville, Old Town and the fountain on Main Street to be illuminated in amber light tonight.

The Dallas skyline, including Reunion Tower will be lit in amber as well.

Church bells across the region will toll as part of the remembrance. People at home are invited to participate by lighting a candle in a window.
