Construction begins today around Dallas Love Field with the goal of trying to spruce up the neighborhood.
The airport will begin deploying a series of enhancements that include the installation of sidewalks, bicycle paths, landscaping, new lighting, intersection safety improvements, upgraded traffic signals, and the creation of what's being called a neighborhood pocket park.
The goal is to improve the area's visual appeal and contribute to a safer and more user-friendly environment.
During construction officials say there will be temporary traffic disruptions and detours near Lemmon Avenue, Collville Avenue, Shorecrest Drive, and Webb Chapel Extension.
The project is expected to be completed by early 2025.
