All 14 Dallas City Council seats were contested in Saturday's election with three of them open due to term-limited incumbents. The open seats and several incumbent races were likely headed to runoff elections next month.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson either endorsed or tweeted support for three candidates who were challenging incumbent council members: Yolanda Williams who challenged Jaime Resendez in District 5, Donald Parish who was one of several challengers to Adam Bazaldua in District 7 and John Botefuhr who ran against Paula Blackmon in District 9.
