On day two of the Darius Fields trial, a Dallas County jury was told about the desperate search for a missing girl who was grabbed off the street five years ago.

It's the position of police that Fields was one of a group of drug dealers robbed of marijuana, leading to the kidnapping and murder of 13-year-old Shavon Randle.
FBI agent Jennifer Mullican testified that Randle, a distant relative of one of the people involved in the drug robbery, was grabbed off Lancaster street on June 28th, 2017. Mullican testified that on Thursday morning they did not believe that Randle was deceased, saying "we were still hoping to recover her alive."
It didn't take long to come up with suspects, and one of them was the man on trial, locating Fields on Thursday the 29th.
In the end, it wasn't fast enough to save Randle from being killed.
Fields is on trial for engaging in organized criminal activity which carries the same penalty as murder.
