Dallas County has extended early voting hours to help ease long lines and wait times reported at polling locations. Starting Wednesday and continuing through Friday, polling sites will remain open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., providing two extra hours for voters.
The extension follows complaints about long waits during the early voting period, prompting action from county officials. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins urged voters to take advantage of the extended hours, noting that while lines may still be long, it's better to avoid waiting until the last minute to cast a ballot.
"If you already know who you're voting for, I would suggest vote sooner rather than later. The last couple of days of early vote are where the procrastinators for early vote vote."
So far, about 33% of Dallas County voters have already participated in early voting.
