The Dallas County Covid alert level has been lowered to Green, the lowest in the CDC's three-color system.

The CDC has just two recommendations for those living in Green alert counties; stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, and get tested if you have symptoms. There are no public masking recommendations for counties labeled green.

The agency's rationale for the change is that Dallas County has enjoyed weeks of decline in both case numbers and hospitalizations.

Denton and Collin counties are both also in the Green. But Tarrant County is listed as Yellow which means people who are at high risk of severe infection should wear a mask when indoors in a public space.
