A Dallas County man has been arrested after investigators accused him of using forged documents to steal three properties from a deceased landowner.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office said the investigation began after the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Dallas police uncovered possible fraud while investigating illegal dumping on the properties along Riverwood Road.

Detectives determined Kyle Scott Boyd allegedly forged documents in April 2023 to transfer ownership of the properties from William Thompson to himself about three weeks before Thompson's death. Boyd was arrested July 28 and booked into the Dallas County Jail.

He is charged with second-degree felony forgery involving property valued at more than $30,000 and third-degree felony theft of property valued at more than $30,000.
