About 4,000 Dallas County voters received incorrect ballots during the November elections, prompting plans to switch election pollbook providers.
"We'd like to apologize to the elections office, to the poll workers of Dallas County, and to the voters of Dallas County," said Danda Parker with Election Systems and Software.
ESS representatives appeared before county commissioners to address the issues. In addition to the ballot mix-up, reports surfaced of software glitches, including screens freezing as poll workers checked in voters and printed ballots.
ESS pledged to resolve the problems ahead of the municipal elections in the spring, but many commissioners expressed skepticism. Discussions about replacing the provider are ongoing.
