Dallas Cowboys plant produce to be served to football fans at AT&T Stadium

The Dallas Cowboys traded their cleats for work boots today to plant produce at the WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn College. The food will supply fan menus at AT&T stadium this fall.

"We help them plant, we help them harvest, we also purchase about 10-15 percent of what they grow and we serve it at the stadium," says George Wasai, Director of Food and Beverage for Legends at AT&T Stadium. "We just planted sweet potatoes ad those will be harvested in October or November. We're going to use some of them for the Thanksgiving meal at the stadium."

The goal of the WE Over Me Farm is to eliminate a food desert in Dallas, so a lot of the produce ends up being donated to food banks or to other people in need.

The Cowboys used to volunteer to maintain the farm quite often, but today was the first time they’ve been since the start of the pandemic.
