The FBI in Texas is still searching for potential victims of a prolific scam artist.

Recently, an East Texas grand jury indicted a Lufkin man for fraud, and now Dallas FBI agents are looking for his victims, who may be eligible to get some restitution.

Using companies like Thrash Sports Management, the Pete Rose memorabilia store, or even Las Vegas pot dispensaries, Matthew Thrash was indicted for scamming investors.

Federal officials said for the last 12 years Thrash presented as a successful investment advisor, or as a pro baseball player agent, getting people to invest in several kinds of companies in several different states.

"He was trying to sell stock in an actual cannabis dispensary there that he had no affiliation with," Spokeswoman Melinda Urbina said.

Now, the FBI wants to find those victims as they prepare a case against the accused grifter. Victims may be eligible for certain services and restitution under federal and state laws.

The FBI's goal is a conviction that will help pay back those who were ripped off. You can read how here.
