A Dallas firefighter is now out of jail after being arrested on a charge of felony theft stemming from an accusation that he lied about testing positive for the Coronavirus in order to get paid more than $12,000 in sick leave.

According to reports, Dallas firefighter William Carter put in for sick time over three payroll periods early this year.

Police documents show Carter's financial records showed purchases at a Round Rock water park, a Waco gift shop, and the Buc-ee's in Temple all during the time he was supposed to be recuperating from the virus.
