DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The police chief in Dallas has laid down the law for an officer who was arrested for public drunkenness.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia has fired 11-year veteran officer Frank Johnson for "being intoxicated in public view and engaging an adverse behavior." On March 24th, Little Elm Police arrested Johnson for public intoxication. He was off duty at the time, but police say he put up a fuss during the arrest.

That case is still pending in Denton County. However, the evidence presented was enough for Garcia. Johnson can still appeal.

He was first hired by Dallas Police in 2013 and worked in the Southeast Patrol Division.
